On Limiting Myself

30112008

I have been limiting myself and it’s been good.

I have not posted on the blog, nor have I commented on the blogs of others or spent much time online (other than checking email, Facebook, the news and weather) for the past month.

I’m back home from Canberra. The PhD writing is finished; my supervisor and myself are now ‘tweaking’ the final draft. I am aiming to have it submitted by the end of September. Tweaking means lots of to-and-fro over individual paragraphs and words, especially at the beginning and end of the thesis. So I still have a bit of work to do.

Anyway, I’m posting to say that I won’t be posting much until the thesis is handed in. After that, I may decide to end this blog.

Yes, you read right. I may decide this blog has served its purpose and it is time to move on to something else. At this stage, I don’t really know.

Anyway, I’ll see you all at the end of the thesis journey.

  1. good to “see you”! if you’re on Facebook, send me a friend request (as I can’t remember your last name!)

metta metta metta to you, Amanda!

  2. The thesis will be a success. I have no doubt about that.

If you decide to end this blog, I think that would be sad. Blogs can evolve.

My original purpose for my blog has certainly adapted and changed over time. It can have more than one purpose, but of course, that’s all up to you.

  3. I’ve just arrived at your blog, so I hope you don’t end too fast!

In the meantime, I’ll have plenty to do catching up on your past writing. I’m here because you kept popping up on lots of other Yoga sites’ recommended lists, so I just had to come over and see for myself.

Your work sounds very interesting indeed. I’ve never been to Australia, but, you know, some of those National Geographic articles are so evocative that I kind of feel like I have. And there was the extensive coverage of everything Australia during the Olympics aways back.

Oh, and I just remembered–Globetrekker–great British offbeat travel show has been all over Australia and me with them.

  4. Dear Amanda, I hope all is going well with the thesis. As far as this blog goes, you must do what is right for you. But I really, really hope you don’t close the blog down. As Svasti said, blogs can evolve.
    Sending you love and peace,
    Anne-Marie

  5. Wow. This post and other recent ones really brought back how I was feeling during the last few months I worked on my dissertation. I wanted to leave behind everything associated with it when I was done, and that is exactly what I did. This was a time barely into the digital age. I didn’t know better. Now I wish I had kept those damn disk thingies with the electronic files on them.

    Namaste’
